My Verkada hardware is end-of-sale. Can I still renew?

Yes. Verkada supports a product for ten years after its end-of-sale date, and the licences stay purchasable and renewable throughout. Old kit is not a reason you cannot renew — and it is a good reason to talk about replacing it.

Ten years of support after end-of-sale

Verkada publishes an end-of-support date alongside every end-of-sale one, and it is usually a decade later. A CD52 that stopped being sold in July 2025 is supported into August 2035.

Licences remain renewable

End-of-sale means Verkada has stopped selling the hardware. It does not mean the licence stops. You can renew a licence on a camera that has not been sold for five years.

Licence value transfers to new hardware

If you do decide to replace a camera, Verkada lets the licence value move with you. So renewing and upgrading are not competing choices — and a renewal is the natural moment to look at both.

The one that matters most in the UK: Classic Alarms

The alarm system sold in the UK is Classic Alarms (the BP41 panel with BR-series sensors). Verkada’s newer alarm range is listed as available in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand — not the United Kingdom. Classic Alarms went end-of-sale on 1 August 2026 and is supported until 1 August 2027. Verkada has not published a UK migration path. We can still renew a Classic Alarms licence, and you should still renew it — but if you run Verkada alarms in the UK, that 2027 date is a conversation to have now rather than in eighteen months. Ask us and we will tell you what we know and what we do not.

FAQ

Common questions

Our cameras are from 2019. Are they too old to renew?

Almost certainly not. Even the original D-series went end-of-sale in 2020–2022 with support running to 2030–2032. Send us the models and we will tell you exactly where you stand.

Should we renew for ten years on hardware that is already end-of-sale?

Probably not, and we will say so. Matching the licence term to the remaining support life of the hardware is the sensible move — there is no point holding a licence that outlives the support date on the camera it sits on. This is exactly the sort of thing we check before quoting.

Can we mix old and new cameras on one renewal?

Yes. Licences are per device and co-term to one organisation-wide date, so a mixed estate renews as one schedule.

What happens at the end-of-support date?

Verkada stops issuing firmware and security updates for that model. The camera does not switch off, but an internet-connected device that no longer receives security updates is a different risk conversation. Worth planning for rather than discovering.
