This sits on top of a camera licence, not instead of one. Only add it for the cameras that actually need the longer retention.
Which devices take the extended cloud storage
Verified against Verkada’s own datasheets. If your model is not here it is almost certainly an older one, and it almost certainly still licences — search the full list or just ask.

Is your hardware end-of-sale? It still renews.
Verkada supports a product for ten years after its end-of-sale date, and licences stay purchasable and renewable throughout — a CD52 that went end-of-sale in 2025 is supported into 2035 and renews normally. Better still, Verkada lets licence value transfer to upgraded hardware, so a renewal is also the natural moment to replace a camera without throwing the licence away. Only count the cameras that genuinely need longer retention.
This licence is in addition to a camera licence, not instead of it. Most sites need it on a handful of cameras, not all of them.
Co-terming
Verkada licences share one expiry date across your whole Command organisation, so this renews alongside everything else you hold.
Drop before you renew
Devices that have been removed but never deleted from Command are still billable. Tell us and we will take them off.
