Which licence does my Verkada kit need?

Every current and end-of-sale Verkada product, and the licence each one takes. Type the model number off the label — it is usually on the back of the camera or inside the door controller.

Three rules that catch people out

Worth knowing before you count

A four-door controller is four licences

An AC43 needs four door licences and an AC62 needs sixteen — the licence is per door, not per box. Readers on those doors need nothing of their own.

A fisheye is one camera, a multisensor is not

The CF83-E sees 180° but takes a single standard camera licence. A CH53-E or CH63-E is four cameras in one housing and takes the four-sensor licence.

Extended storage multiplies on multisensors

A two-sensor multisensor needs two extended storage licences and a four-sensor one needs four. This is the most common over- and under-count on a renewal.

Is your hardware end-of-sale? It still renews.

Verkada supports a product for ten years after its end-of-sale date, and licences stay purchasable and renewable throughout — a CD52 that went end-of-sale in 2025 is supported into 2035 and renews normally. Better still, Verkada lets licence value transfer to upgraded hardware, so a renewal is also the natural moment to replace a camera without throwing the licence away.
